Meet Your Doctor: Tarek El-Bialy

Dr. Tarek El-Bialy is an orthodontic specialist with nearly 40 years of experience creating natural, confident smiles for patients of all ages. Known for his compassion, knowledge, and approachable personality, he combines expertise with a warm sense of humor that puts patients at ease. Alongside his clinical practice, he has made significant academic contributions as the author of respected textbooks and numerous research articles. His international presence as a lecturer and speaker has taken him to dozens of countries, where he has shared insights with both academic associations and industry leaders such as Align Technology (Invisalign).

Currently an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Dr. Tarek focuses his research on bioengineering, biomechanics, and craniofacial anomalies. His groundbreaking work in combining low-intensity pulsed ultrasound with orthodontics has led to innovative, proven methods that accelerate tooth movement safely and effectively. With advanced degrees from the University of Illinois and previous leadership roles at King Abdul-Aziz University, his academic and clinical careers reflect a lifelong commitment to advancing orthodontic care.

Outside of work, he enjoys family time, outdoor activities like hiking and fishing, and cheering on his favorite Edmonton sports teams.

Meet Your Doctor: Meera Pamnani

Dr. Meera Pamnani is a general dentist registered with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA). She completed her dental education and postgraduate training in India before relocating to Canada with her family. After moving to Alberta, she successfully obtained her National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) certification and now provides patient-centered general dental care to her community.

Dr. Meera enjoys offering a wide range of general dentistry services and has a strong interest in providing orthodontic-related treatments within the scope of general dentistry. She is committed to continuing education to ensure she delivers safe, evidence-based, and high-quality care to all her patients.

Outside of practice, Dr. Meera is a dedicated coffee enthusiast who enjoys exploring unique cafés and discovering new brews. She also loves spending time with her family and travelling, drawing inspiration from new places and experiences.
